He was born on February 19, 1945 to the late Dorothy and Joseph Mack. Jimmy graduated from Tattnall County High School in 1963. He lived in New York for many years. He also lived in Killeen, Texas for a few years. He moved back to Claxton in the early 1980's and remained here until his death. Jimmy leaves to mourn his death one sister, Janice Jones of Prince George, VA; one brother-in-law Leroy Jones and their four children; Twila Torrez of Mary Ester, Florida is a Tech Sgt stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in FI. Twila has one son Demetris Torrez, Shyra Jones of Prince George, VA a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va; Omar Gunn of Prince George, Va and Eric Heck of San Diego, California. He leaves Wilbur and Warwesse Polite of Pembroke, GA and their seven children. Jimmy, Wilbur, and Janice were raised in the same house as brothers and sister. During the last couple of years due to Jimmys failing health, Wilbur has been handling Jimmys affairs. Wilbur was devoted to Jimmy and did everything within his power to make Jimmys life easier. Jimmy also leaves his mothers brother (Uncle Wilbert) Bishop James H. Polite of Charleston, S.C. and his daughters Claudia and Maurice Polite of New York. He leaves numerous cousins and friends to mourn his death and reflect on precious memories. Jimmy was loyal to those he called his friends. He was outspoken and sometimes loudly expressed his opinions (smile). He joined Smith Chapel Holiness Church at an early age under the Leadership of Bishop A.L. Owens and Bishop Oscar Foxworth. He did not attend church often but he was passionate about his beliefs. He was not easily persuaded. He believed what he believed and stuck by those beliefs. He was lovingly called Merrill Lynch (a breed apart) by his sister. All who knew him will miss him!
