The days are passed and gone
The evening shade appears
May we all remember well
The night of death drawn near.
We lay our garments by.
Upon our bed to rest.
Soon death will come and dissolve
Us all for what we here possess.
Lord keep us safe this night
Until morning light appears.
We shall meet beyond the River
By and By.
