PLEASANT CEMETERY HARPERS FUNERALHOME IN CHARGE CLAXTON, GEORGIA OBITUARY Mr. Asia Thomas was born Nov. 13, 1893 in Builoch County, Georgia. He was the son of the iate Mr. George and Mrs. Saliy Thomas. At an eariy age he was converted and baptized at Gennie Baptist Church, Midway, Georgia, under the iate Rev. T. J. Lynch. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. America Levant who has preceded him in death. He was a native of Evans County for many years. After moving he connected himself to the St. Luke Baptist Church in Daisy and was ordained a Deacon under the late Rev. T. J. Lynch and served as Chairman of Deacon Board. Later he was married to Mrs. Pearl Brewton. They lived together until death claimed him. He departed this life Thursday night, September 7th in Evans Memorial Hospital. He was a faithful Church worker and remained Chairman of Deacon Board until death. He leaves to mourn his loss, a loving wife, Mrs. Pearl Thomas; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Groover and Mrs. Suzie Thomas of Philadelphia, Pa.; two daughters. Miss Serture Howard and Mrs. Jessie M. Wright; one son, Mr. Thomas Royal; one step-son, Mr. Otha Brewton; one step-daughter, Mrs. Betty Doe; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Mrs. Vivian Wallace; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The days are passed and gone The evening shade appears May we all remember well The night of death drawn near. We lay our garments by. Upon our bed to rest. Soon death will come and dissolve Us all for what we here possess. Lord keep us safe this night Until morning light appears. We shall meet beyond the River By and By.
