This day personally came Ebenezer Newton a citizen of Macon County NC before me Geo. W. Hayes an acting Justice of the peace in and for said County after being Sworn according to Law deposith and Saith in the Summer of
1836, he furnished poor Cherokeeswith grain On Orders from William. H. Thomas. his information was that said Thomas furnished a considerable number of destitute cherokees at his Store near the old Indian boundry [boundary] line sworn to and Subscribed before me this
24th August 1838 --
