To his honor the Governor & the other beloved men of the State of Georgia
Friends & Brothers,
Early in Summer a man named Yellow Hair by our People (Mr McMurphy) came up among us & said he was sent up by you on business of Importance & desired a meeting of the Cheifs [Chiefs] to communicate the same. We then told him & the Tame King & Fat King that the person whom we had placed at the head of our Councils, being absent from the Nation we could not meet to deliberate on Public matters, but if he would wait, till we cou'd [could] be convened he wou'd [would] [deleted text: cou ] obtain an answer, which he promised to do. And on the arrival of the person we expected, notice was given by him to all the Cheifs [Chiefs], of the Upper, Middle, & Lower Towns to meet in General convention at the Tuckebatchee Town for the purpose of hearing your Talk. Mean time your Messenger went off for Augusta, whereby we did not hear your Talk. however we expected to hear it from either the Tame or Fat Kings who are the same as Yellow Hair, but they did not appear in the Council. We believe they are ashamed of their bad conduct, respecting the Lands, & of which they have been often told of.
Brothers,
be not deceived by those men any longer they have no authority to give away
