From the peculiarity of the civil war among us, I find it difficult to procure correct and early information from the Red Clubs, and connexion [connection] between them, the Spaniards and British. The enclosed which I deem sufficiently important to send by express is believed here to be substantially true. -- Lt. Lewis commanding a company of our spies and guides informs Mr. Limbaugh McQueen and Francis had delivered themselves as prisoners to Colo. [Colonel] Milton. Several hundred of the deluded followers of the prophets have surrendered themselves at our military posts, and are fed by order of Government The Supplies will be charged to their account, and [unclear text: become ] matter of arrangement whenever a treaty shall be held.
