he was down at the cheehaws where he was stoped [stopped] from persuin [pursuing] further after our negros [negroes] -- by receving [receiving] the Infermation [Information] of the war party being on their march for the agency and all the forts on this line -- he amediately despached [immediately dispatched] Gorge Lovit to you and his father -- and Staid [Stayed] at the Cheehaws him Self in view of watching their movements -- after lovit left that place -- the Cheehaws went down to find out the truth and their corse [course] -- and all the old men of the Cheehaw town went down to try to Stop them if posable [possible] -- and told them they war [were] all going to run mad and quit their dances and Jine [Join] the white peaple [people] and they could git [get] something to Eat the cheehaw Chefs [Chiefs] and them air [are] all in Counsel [Council] and has stoped [stopped] them for sum [some] few days but cannot say what tenth of time -- and further stats [states] that Peariman had [deleted text: started for pen ]

I cum [come] across a large pasel [passel] of our fatinning hoggs [fattening hogs] today with them 2 large Hors [Horse] -- we went to fetch them and th [the] Cur he would not [unclear text: tech [touch] ] the Barres [Barrows] and spaid [spayed] sows and persued [pursued] a large old Bore [Boar] -- we tried Every way to git [get] him of [off] -- after a while the boys got to him where he was lying with his throat Cutt [Cut] and was ded [dead] and tore all to peaces their [pieces there] was 8 large spaid [spayed] sows and Barrows I shot one it was very fat I shall [document damaged: try ] to kill the ballance [balance] in the morning
