Savannah
6th Oct 1791 --
Sir
Mr Watts having informed me that you would audit the accounts of myself and Son against the Public provided they were attested I have taken the liberty to send them for that purpose. Col. Habersham, (who was on of the Committee of Accounts) would have brought down Certificates for the amount at the breaking up of last Assembly had the accounts been audited -- Provision for payment was made by the appropriation Act -- Should you have any doubts remaining respecting the matter I dare say they can be easily removed by Mr Seaborn Jones who was also on the Committee --
I am Sir Yours respectfully
[Signed] Jas [James] Johnston
