- This legal form certifies the enlistment and service of Peter Harris, a Catawba Indian, in a minuteman battalion that was raised in defense of Georgia in 1777. It is noted that Harris was not an inhabitant of the state at or immediately preceding the time of his enlistment and that he was in service when the battalion was reduced on March 1, 1778. The certificate is dated March 25, 1784 and signed by Samuel Jack, a clerk.
