Personally came Theoderic Montfort and being duly sworn saith That on or about the
25th of January 1814 (Instant) said deponent was about to pass from Harford in said State Over the Ockmulge River for the purpose of purchasing provisions from the friendly Indians on Flint River for the Use of the Troops in the service of the United States under the command of Genl. [General] John Floyd, and that said depont. [deponent] was Stopp'd [Stopped] and prevented from passing the said river in the said business by a certain Captain Thomas commanding a detachment of Militia stationd [stationed] at the Aforesaid place Hartford.

I Certify that Mr Theodrick Montfort is duly autherised [authorised] to purchase provisions for the Subsistance [Subsistence] of the Georgia Militia in the U.S Service under the command of B.G. [Brigadier General] John Floyd and was at the time he attempted to cross the ocmulgee as above stated
