29th. Septr. [September] 1812
Sir
I herewith transmit to the Executive department, the muster Roll and Inspection Return of the quota of men required by General orders from the first Brigade, commanded by Genl. [General] Floyd except the quota from Camden County Batallion [Battallion] ; which I have not received, owing to the duty required of them on the frontier of said County, as I am informed by Colonel Scott, that the Indians are so troublesome in that quarter that the whole of the Batallion [Battallion] have been on duty for some time past, by detachments But am in hourly expectation of receiving it, & as soon as it arrives, it will be forwarded to the executive department.
I also enclose to your department the receipt of Merritt & William Dilliard for the body of Meshack Burney agreeable to your Order of the
7th. May last.
