I came thus far with the commissioners [deleted text: of ] of Tennessee, and would have accompanied them [added text (appears to be different ink): to ] Nickee-Jack, where the commissioners of Georgia are waiting for aur [our] arrival [added text (appears to be different ink): ; --- ] But having been officially notified by [added text (appears to be different ink): the ] chiefs of the Cherokee Nation, of their having solemnly protested against the views of both States, in relation to runing [running] the line, I have deemed it my indispensable duty to convene the chiefs who have signed the Protest, and obtain their revokal [revocation] -- And [deleted text: have to return ] [added text (appears to be different ink): .) ] -- The whole of the correspondence between the Cherokees, and my Self, will be laid before your commissioner according to my letter of this date addressed to them, and have no doubt
