Yours of
2nd ult. [ultimo] is recd. [received] and annexed I Send the estimate requested, I will not say that the estimate is entirely correct but I think it will be found nearly so as [deleted text: [illegible text] ] [added text: near ] so as I can possibly make it with my means at hand. I will also inform you that U.S. forces have all been removed from Georgia but they remain just on our boundary and still anoy [annoy] the citizens of Georgia as much as they were want to do when within the limits of the state. should you at any time receive any information respecting Indian sign or depredations in the Okafanoke district please inform me the nature &.c. [et cetera] of such report. I have been compelled since I have called the command now in service to borrow rations for subsistence & forage from citizens with the promise that they should be returned when supplies were purchased. the quarter master is of oppinion [opinion] that he is not authorized to return them without an order from you please give him your views of that matter
