Carnesville
26th May 1836
His Excellency William Schley
Sir
on my return home I found my company (to wit the Franklin Mounted Volunteers) anxious to serve their county & considering us imbraced [embraced] in the late call of the commander in chief.
but for believing that the requisition made for mounted men is before this filled up I would have made immediate arrangements to march to Columbus I therefore take the liberty of again tendering the services of my company to go any part of the Creek or Cherokee country should circumstances require our services in either section should you deem it necessary to call on us we will be prepared to march at short notice, & would like to be apprised of the probable result so soon as you may determine

I am sir very respectly [respectfully] your obt. [obedient] servant
[Signed] Jas [James] Morris
