Dear Sir
I write for information. the Situation of this county is such. Our county Surveyor (whose Service expires in
January next) -- became a candidate for district Surveyor to survey the cherokee lands under the late act of the legislature. he was elected as you will see from the returns forwarded you -- the information I want is to know from your excellency his opinion in relation to the same. whether Mr Stephen Draw can hold both appointments -- to wit. The office of County Surveyor & that of a district Surveyor
