Telfar
February 4th- 1819
His Excelency [Excellency] Governor Rabun
Sir.
I take the liberty the request of my friend Major [unclear text: Paramore ] to name to you that he wishes to be considered as a candidate for an executive appointment as district Surveyor, he has heard that there has already some vacancy occured [occurred] and no doubt will be many more. I deem it unnecessary to say any thing about the Majors competency as he has already performed a similar duty. I would name to your excelency [excellency]

that Major Paramores [deleted text: [illegible text] ] [added text: being ] ingaged [engaged] in aiding the commissioners on behalf of the United States & State in running the line between this State and the Indians was the reason of his not offering himself as a candidate to the Legislature.

I have the honor of subscribing myself your Excelency [Excellency] Obdt Humbl [Obedient Humble] Servant
[Signed] Jno [John] Coffee
