Sir
I write you these few lines in great haste to inform you that I have just received a letter by express from Christian Limbaugh principal assistant Agent for Indian Affairs Creek Nation- Stating that "he had received information from down this river, that the Seminolee Indians were preparing to make an attack upon Hartford or Camp near Fort Mitchell"- he also states that they have not determined at which place they will strike first; but if the information he has received be correct this place or the neighbourhood [neighborhood] will be the object of their first attack". The information received from the above creates great alarm among the Citizens. Nothing more at present --

with [deleted text: S ] Sentiments of the highest esteem I remain your humble St. [Servant]
[Signed] Allen Tooke Lt. Coln. [Lieutenant Colonel] 36th Regt. Ga. Ma. [Regiment Georgia Militia]
