Sir,
We understand that [added text: it ] is your determination to send out immediately to to [to] the frontiers, of Camden, Glynn, and Wayne Counties, detachments of Militia for the protection of that part of this State, We beg leave to recommend to your Excellency, that if those detachments are put under any officer higher in command than Captain, Major John Hardie of Camden County, He being a man in whom we fully confide and who is better acquainted with that frontier than perhaps any other of his grade, having resided, for twenty years
