13th of March, with the Inclosures [Enclosures], was not received 'til [deleted text: [unclear text: the ] ] a few days ago, the original has never come to hand.
Yours, and Mr Carnes's letter to the President, together with the Resolution of Congress, of the
third of March, was transmitted to me by the Secretary of War. -- Inclosed is a Copy of my Letter to him in answer to his, with [unclear text: those ] Inclosures [Enclosures] .
The great advantages that must [illegible text] to the State, from the extinguishment of Indian Claims to the Lands between the Oconee and Oakmulgee, must engage, and interest every freind [friend] to Georgia, to [illegible text] their utmost [unclear text: endeavors ] to have accomplished; and however much opposed I might have been to the Sale of the Lands, [unclear text: Sold ] the different Companies, Yet should the Genl. [General] [unclear text: Government ] be [unclear text: serious ] in [unclear text: disputing ] the right of this State to the Lands in question, I think it will be my duty to exert every means in my power to support the right of this State. I cannot think they will endeavor to carry their [unclear text: interference ] [unclear text: to such an ] [unclear text: extent ]
