This opportunity is embraced to inform Your Excellency that the Troops from the lower parts of the State are in motion for the rock Landing. Captain Burbeck with fifty of his own and twenty two NonCommissioned [Noncommissioned] officers and Soldiers of Captain Smith's Company all in good health and completely equipped marched from this place
15th Inst. [Instant] he will proceed by the way of Waynesborough.
Axes and every other material necessary on the line were forwarded this day, so that I trust the military department will be in full readiness to proceed so soon as the Commissioners authorized for that purpose may judge necessary to enter upon the business.
No late advices have come forward from the War office or information of Mr. Ellicot's coming on [deleted text: been ] received
