To his Honor George Matthews, Esquire
Captain General, Governor of Commander [unclear text: on Chief in ] and over the State of Georgia [unclear text: & the Honble [Honorable] ] the Executive Council.
The Humble Petition of a Number of the Inhabitants on Toogalo River being much distressed by the late mischief done by the Indians in our neighbourhood [neighborhood], do humbly request your Honors to take our case into your consideration and grant us relief. we are destitute of arms ammunition & men which we hope will be as soon possible sent to our relief & your Petitioners as on duty bound will pray.
