Dear Sir,
[deleted text: where I so ]
I now have the pleasure to inform you that we have compleated [completed] the Session with the Creek Indians and have got the land as far as the oconies, and make no doubt but numbers of Inhabitance [inhabitants] will be out from other stats [states] in order to settle the land between this and the spring of the year
you remember [unclear text: sir ] when I saw you in augusta last I was shewing you an account of goods which I supplied the Indian department with agreeable to your order when the credit of this state was at a very low ebb which you was good enough to say you would do your Indeavor [Endeavor] to have the matter Settled as soon as posable [possible] and as the Sum is something Considerable and I am much pushd [pushed] for cash must request you would have the matter settled, but Knowing that cash is hard to be come at, and that your honour [honor] was Investd [Invested] with power to dispose of confiscated property to defray such expense

would by leave to Inform your Hons [Honors] that I would be willing to purchase a plantation in Richmond County formerly the property of James Ingram Known by the name of oake Hall, on the same condition that general Twigs purchased [purchased] a lot in augusta for the same payments, that is to have it valued by two Justices of the peace or good [unclear text: free ] Holders and then to have possesion [possession], and after haveing [having] it valued have it set up at [illegible text] for cash and if it sells for more than it is valued at let the highest bidder take it and let me be paid the money which I am sure your Hon [Honor] will comply with, the Sum dew [due] is near 200 pound and Colo [Colonel] Middleton has supplyd [supplied] the Commissioner with some horses for the Indians which we have drawn on your hons [Honors] for, which I will likewise discharge on Condition you think proper to let me have the plantation, I should not have troubled you at this time but the time of sails [sales] begins in Richmond County the
18 day of [unclear text: Inst. ] therefore hope you will give a decisive answar [answer] as should you incline to let me have the

Land Shall want to put in a winter crop but should the land be Valued to more than what government is in dew [due] me and Colo [Colonel] Middleton will not want as [illegible text] credet [credit] as what I have given [unclear text: him ] but be leave [believe] there will be but little danger of it being valued so high, but perhaps you might think if the land was sold for one half cash and the other credet [credit] it might answar [answer] a better purpose if so I should have no objection as I asure [assure] you I had rather have the cash than the land, but hope you will give me an answar [answer] so that I may take Emediate [Immediate] possesion [possession] of the land or have it sold that I may recd [received] the cash
I have the honr [honor] to be your Honour [Honor] Most obd Humb Sart [obedient Humble Servant]

Ps the plantation was bid of at the former sals [sales] and rented out but the conditions of sail [sale] not [unclear text: compled [complied] ] with should be glad if you incline to let me have the land you would give some discretion respecting the Rent
