25 June 1786 -- A talk from the kings Beloved men and Warriors of part of the upper Towns present the head men of 13 Towns the Tallesey King, or good child of the [unclear text: Halfe [Half] ] way house Speaker --

My freinds [friends] and brothers, you [illegible text] Such & you call me so and I ame [am] a going [going] to Speake [Speak] to you as such, my freinds [friends] such a small talk as has [unclear text: haponed [happened] ] I hop [hope] will not grow know [no] larger I hope that we will agree that our children will grow up in friendship and that as we are a poore [poor] people I hope our path will not be Darkened, I hope that Gl. [General] Wasshinton Remembers [deleted text: that we have ] the talks we have [deleted text: had ] had together that our Children may grow up in peace, they are not all geathered [gathered] togeather [together] at present but they will be at the Tuckabatchey Square when they will give a positive answer as all the towns will be presint [present], this day a talk given by him he hopes will be Receved [Received] by the beloved men of the State georgia he [illegible text] Recived [received] thire [their] good talks and gives them a go [document damaged: od ] talk in answer he hopes that the reading pa [document damaged] will be open and [unclear text: Streight [straight] ] as we are a poore [poor] -- people we must make Expect goods from the wt. [white] people as we cannot make Such things our Selvs [Selves] he deisiers [desires] thire [there] might not any Stragling [Straggling] white people come to thire [there] land with talks as they have hard [heard] a great many lyes [lies] but they will not Lissen [Listen] to any such in [unclear text: futer [future] ] [unclear text: Except ] it is by Some person Empowered to give out talks it was our forefathers disire [desire] that we Should hold out our hands in a friendly maner [manner] to a [document damaged: ll ] White people that come to our Land in peace

We Remember the talks we have had togeather [together] as Eating Drinking and Smoking, in friendship togeather [together], as we hope we will continue [deleted text: alth ] although thire [there] has ben [been] some bad talks hear [here] amongst us but it was not by the Consint [Consent] of of [of] the Nation and we are Sure the [unclear text: Like ] will not happen againe [again], it happened by a persull [parcel] of unruley [unruly] young men who did not Rightly -- understand the talks that was given them, as McGilveray is not Returned from New Orlines, and thire [there] is a talk from the Cherokees, and he will have one from the Spaniards, and we will hear the whole -- talks but we will not Lissen [Listen] to any bad -- talks, but will holde [hold] fast all that is -- given [document damaged: for ] peace
