A talk from the Cusata King brought Down by the Second man of the [unclear text: Cowetes ] . as follows as we allways [always] was frends [friends] to the Amaricans we thought proper to let them know the bad talk o [of] the [deleted text: [unclear text: Spane ] ] Spanniards Sent [added text: us ] which is held in the Talleces and wants us to cum [come] Down to murder the white people on the frontears [frontiers] and that they will find us in Guns & amunation [ammunition] -- and that the Chacktaws and Chekesws has taken there [their] talk and Guns and Ammunition to turn out against the white people and [document damaged] of the upper towns, has taken there talk [deleted text: and ] and of the Lower towns, which is the Chehaws and I beleve [believe] they will turn out Soon if there is not a talk. Sent up from the Beloved people Down there, as Soon as posable [possible] to put a Stop to it [added text: the ] Cusetas Says they will not take there there [their] talk as they allways [always] held the [unclear text: Vergani ] people by they hand and will allways [always] be there [their] frend [friend] and will allways [always] let them know when there is a bad talk in the Nation. And Likewise the [deleted text: the ] [unclear text: Breed ] Camps in the upper towns. has kild [killed] two white men on Cumberlen and is turn out again I have Sent to the Chekesaws to no [know] the the reason of there [their] [deleted text: talk ] taken there [their] talk, as they allways [always] was peasable [peaceable], and wishes them to remain peasable [peaceable] -- he likewise begs that the Honourable [Honorable] Governer [Governor] will Send him up a good talk that he may Still think they are frends [friends] and that he will try all that lays in his power to Stop the people from Doing any murder Down hear [here], with out there is aman [a man] that is [document damaged: well acquainted ] with the Indians and gave them a good talk they will be murder [document damaged] [added text: done ] Shortly -- [deleted text: the ] he likewise begs that [deleted text: the ] his honour [honor] . the Governer [Governor], [document damaged: will ] Send up Soon as posable [possible]
A true Coppy [Copy] of the Cusata Kings talk Delivered to me at the Oconies the
11th of Apriel [April] 1786 if the Honourable Governer [Honorable Governor] thinks proper my Self and Philip Scott will go up and beleve [believe] can Stop them from Doing any murder.
