- This document is a receipt for payment received by Colwele Eastus from William Clark for carrying an express into the Creek Nation on behalf of Georgia Governor Samuel Elbert (1785-1786). Eastus was paid twenty pounds ten shillings for his services and his signature appears on the receipt. James Barnard also signed the receipt as a witness. Dated April 19, 1785. This receipt is also referred to in tcc668.
