[added text (appears to be different ink and hand): 661 ] Not receiving A Letter from [added text: you in ] so long A time I am Afraid you have forgot me but still hope it is for want of an Opportunity It is thought the Indians will be very troublesome here this Summer the 14th of this Inst. [Instant] they killed two Men on Seder Creek About 40 Miles from us the people of this State pray's for A War very much and it is expected there will be One There was A Cherokee Trader from our parts bringe [bring] Accts [Accounts] that 240 of that Nation went and Joind [Joined] the Northward Indians Agat. [Against] G. [General'] Scott and but 16 returned and could give no Acct. [Account] of the rest but expected they were killed Corn is very scearce [scarce] with us in our Neighbourhood [Neighborhood] it sells for 4/8 pr. bushel. I am still in a very Low state of Health my Children is very well and I hope when this is handed to you it will find you and family the same give my best respects to yr.
