- This document consists of an undated engraving of George M. Troup, Governor of Georgia (1823-1827), by J.C. Buttre. Troup was heavily involved in affairs relating to the Cherokee Nation during his term of office. In addition, Troup was the cousin of William McIntosh, a controversial Creek Indian leader.
