Octr. [October] 11th. 1787
Dear Sir,
Mr. Wolwich who Acts under and by virtue of a Letter of Attorney from Mr. Watlington will deliver you this -- he proceeds from hence for Charleston to make enquiry, be informed of the Suit instituted in Chancery against Mrs. Howly -- I will thank you to explain the business fully to him - in order that the Dealing Court of St. Croix may rest satisfied until recovery is had --
Three days past we were alarmed with a Body of Indians on the little Canouche -- I accompanied General Jackson, returned last Evening [added text: but saw none ] -- you will please to pardon the shortness of this Letter, as I feel myself much faded --

Believe me yours sincerely
[Signed] Saml. [Samuel] Sticht
