- This is a land grant, which includes a map and survey report, for a plot of land in Cherokee County. It was granted to Thomas Hickson of Jasper County on November 11, 1840. The land was obtained through unspecified treaties with the Cherokee and Creek Indians and distributed through acts of the Georgia Assembly passed on December 21, 1830 and December 22, 1831. This plot of land was granted under the authority of Governor Charles J. McDonald (Governor of Georgia, 1839-1843), and it was surveyed on April 30, 1832.
