- This document is a land grant, including a survey report and map, for a 160 acre plot of land in Cherokee County, Georgia, dated December 19, 1832. The land was acquired by an 1830 act of the Georgia state assembly that extended its jurisdiction over the remaining Cherokee lands in Georgia, including those disputed lands still claimed by the Creek Indians. This particular plot of land was granted to Josiah Spivey under the authority of Wilson Lumpkin, Governor of Georgia (1831-1835).
