Sir,
I have just received a letter from Colonel Crowell, in which he informs me that he has not yet received of you the books, papers &c [et cetera] belonging to the Creek agency. It is necessary to a due transaction of the business of the agency, of which you must be aware, that he should have them without further delay, and I have to request you will put him in possession of them, as soon after the receipt of this as practicable.
