- This document is a land grant, including a hand drawn map and survey report, for a plot in Baldwin County, Georgia that was granted to Thomas Simmes of Wilkes County, Georgia. The land was acquired by the state of Georgia from the Creek Nation in the Treaty of Fort Wilkinson, signed June 16, 1802. The survey and land grant are both endorsed by John Milledge, Governor of Georgia (1802-1806). Also attached is a sworn statement by which Simmes transfers the title and claim to Andrew G. Simmes.

KNOW YE, That in pursuance of the several acts passed by the General Assembly, to make distribution of the lands obtained from the Creek Nation of Indians by the United States Commissioners, in a treaty entered into at or near Fort Wilkinson, on
