Cowetuh tallauhassee
4 april [April] 1800
I have had the pleasure to receive your favour [favor] informing me of the receipt and expenditure of some money I sent you by my nephew: and lately I have received information from Colo. [Colonel] Gaither, that the necessaries you sent me to his care are in his possession, safe and in good order. I must request you to send also to his care, as opportunity offers, one or two barrels of flower [flour] for me
Our affairs in this quarter are [unclear text: in ] as good a train as we could expect them be, assisted as they are by mischief-makers. I have one Loom in this town and a public weaver, who has constant employment, and two other Looms on this river One above about five miles and One 30 miles below, the last by Indian woman.

I am with sincere regard and Esteem Sir, yr. obednt Serv. [your obedient Servant]
