Yours of the
10 December came [unclear text: same ] To hand, and the contents noted. You informed me that there was no arrangment [arrangement] made with the Indians. Permit me to [unclear text: surget [suggest] ] to you the propriety of having a new Treaty made If Possible and the Treaty made at the Indian [added text: Springs ] ought to be done away as [added text: it ] was not made with the Creek nation If this should be done it will be the Destruction of the Troopers. If the present Treaty Shoud [Should] be Rattified [Ratified] it will establish them, to the Enclution [Inclusion] of all other good men in this state, in their fals [false] Clamour [Clamor] against you they have got a large majority of the people to believe that you are against the Treaty and their Interest and it is against any persons Popularity here to vendicate [vindicate] you cause altho [although] a great number of Respectable [added text: Citizens ] believe you are unjustly persecuted by the Troopers, I am very much Surprised at the Presedent [President] to lisen [listen] [added text: to ] them or their memorials against you, the Legislature of Georgia has as much Right to meddle

with your appointment as they have with the appointment of our Mr. King, our Minister at Court of St James. this has always been my opinion and it yet is. "Troop is not done with General Government as you may see by the enclosed order he has assured to [added text: the ] Generals to have the Militia Classed. the Troopers say cost what it will he intends to take Possission [Possession] of [added text: the ] land the
first of September."Please write me again the Prospects of and adjustment with Indians as I wish to become a settle on the Chattahootche
