I am much Disabled from recent bruises scarcely able to move Was Called on 2 Hours since to Draw up a petition to Your City for assistance You will know I am the last to [deleted text: [illegible text] ] belive [believe] in Danger when none exists -- I have not the smallest Doubt that [added text: the facts ] stated in Our address to Your Command are all too true Various Indian signs have been seen this side of the River within two Days and it Does seem to me Your forces Cannot be better Employed than routing the Savages wherever they can be found the same that makes a Descent on us Will follow it up on your place
You must not pause aid must reach the Neighborhood by Monday midday or it may Come too late The arrangement has been made in much haste The Emergeny [Emergency] requires great Haste
