- This document contains orders, dated June 21, 1838, from the headquarters of the middle military district at New Echota to Captain Vincent, commander of the Georgia infantry volunteers at Cedar town participating in the forced removal of the Cherokee Indians. Vincent is ordered to bring all the Indians in his charge to the head quarters by command of Brigadier General Floyd. In addition, by order of Captain Thomas Bourke, Vincent is required to deliver the public stores to a newly appointed quartermaster before leaving his post.
