- Aerial view of the construction of the Augustine B. McManus at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia. This photograph is taken along the broad side of the ship from the stern. A crane is hoisted above the ship; ladders and scaffolding have been built around the ship. Workers can be seen on the top of ship, on the walkways, and on the dock below. The forty-second ship built by the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia, the Augustine B. McManus had its keel laid April 21, 1944. The ship was launched June 10, 1944 and delivered June 24, 1944.
