- Aerial view of the interior construction of the hull of the Samlorian at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia. Scaffolding is laid around the ship, except for a large opening at the stern. Workers are visible at the stern, and also on the dock below. One of the "SAM" ships lent to Great Britain under lend lease terms, the Samlorian was the thirty-ninth ship built by the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Its keel was laid April 21, 1944. The ship was launched May 14, 1944 and delivered May 26, 1944.
