- Aerial close-up view of the construction of the Samfinn at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia. The frame is cropped closely, showing the ships's scaffolding and the elevated walkways that circumscribe the ship on the outside. Workers can be seen on top of the ship. The dock and the scaffolding of another ship can be seen in the lower right corner of the photograph. One of the "SAM" ships lent to Great Britain under lend lease terms, the Samfinn was the thirty-third ship built by the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Its keel was laid February 14, 1944. The ship was launched March 31, 1944 and delivered April 13, 1944.
