- Aerial view of the construction of the Samfoyle at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia taken two days prior to its launching. Scaffolding is visible along either side of the ship, as well as around the ship itself. Workers can be seen on top of the ship, and on the docks below. One of the "SAM" ships lent to Great Britain under lend lease terms, the ship was the thirty-second built by the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Its keel was laid February 8, 1944. The ship was launched March 23, 1944 and delivered March 31, 1944.
