- Aerial view of the construction of the hull of the Samfoyle at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia. Scaffolding is visible along both sides of the ship, and the deck is nearly completed. Workers can be seen on top of the ship. One of the "SAM" ships lent to Great Britain under lend lease terms, the ship was the thirty-second built by the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Its keel was laid February 8, 1944. The ship was launched March 23, 1944 and delivered March 31, 1944.
