- Dalton, 1890-1900. Guests at the Lewis House pose for a photograph. This hotel was located on Crawford Street near the depot. In the 1890s it was a resort hotel. People came from south Georgia and Florida during the summer and from the north during the winter. This hotel was operated by J. Q. A. Lewis who purchased it from Ben E. Green. Green had operated it as the Duff Green House. Mr. and Mrs. J. Q. A. Lewis are standing on the porch at the top of the steps.
