- Description:
- Willowdale, June 12, 1912. People view damage caused by the derailment of engine No. 179 of the Western & Atlantic Railroad and passenger cars it was pulling. An engineer and a fireman died when Engine No. 179 wrecked, as seen in this photograph. About 40 other passengers were injured Several hundred people on the train were from Calhoun, Ga. and were on their way to Chattanooga, Tenn. for an excursion picnic.
