2003/07/18: The "Irvin Guard" of Wilkes County merged into the 11th early in the Civil War, became known as the "Irvin Artillery" (Co. C, 11th Georgia Artillery Battalion.) It became an artillery until on Dec. 12, 1861. - External Identifiers:
