- Cleveland [Ohio], 1925. Phillip Bedgood is said to have been the first man from Washington County, Georgia to play baseball in the major leagues. He was a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians of the American Baseball League in the 1920s. He is probably in this photograph, but his identity is unknown.
