- Sandersville, 1896. Home of Beverly Daniel Evans, Jr. at 214 South Smith Street. Members of the family are standing in front of the home. Two maids are at the far left. The black man holding the horse's reins worked for the family, too. Evans (1865-1922) received his degrees from Mercer University. in 1884 he was admitted to the bar and soon became his father's law partner in Evans & Evans. He served in the House of Representatives of the Georgia General Assembly from Washington County 1886-1887. He was solicitor general of the Middle Judicial Circuit 1890-1897 and served as judge of the same circuit 1899-1904. From 1904-1917 he served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia. In 1917 he became a judge in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Georgia.
