- Duke, Sept. 16, 1899. Group of colonists arrive by train from Nashville, Tenn. to join colonists at Duke. The name of the colony was later changed to Ruskin.
2003/07/14: Duke was the original name of a communal colony founded by a group from Tennessee in Ware County, Georgia; the community's name was later changed to Ruskin, after the name of English essayist and art critic John Ruskin (1819-1900). - External Identifiers:
