- Walker County, 1977. Home of the Clarkston family located on Broomtown Road seven miles southwest of LaFayette. The home, built in 1876, was a wedding present to Amanda Lawrence upon her marriage to John Clarkston. Clay was dug on the property and used to produce bricks on the site.
