- Description:
- Mountville, ca. 1896-1897. Cadets at Mountville Military Institute in front of the school. The school was organized in 1895, having grown out of the existing Mountville Institute. The school was coeducational and both boys and girls wore uniforms. The school was established as a preparatory school. L. L. Hargrave was the superintendent. The school operated in this fashion for only a few years. Later it became Mountville Grammar and High School. This structure was destroyed by fire in 1943.
