- Description:
- LaGrange, 1918-1919. Rear view of Hawkes Dormitory on the campus of LaGrange Female College. It was erected in 1911. Note the cows that are grazing on the grass in the yard. Today part of the building is used as a women's dormitory and part of the Art Department, including art galleries. The college was begun in 1831 as LaGrange Female Academy and has had several names over the years. In 1953 in became coeducational. It is now known as LaGrange College.
